Late Ezinne Rose Maria Ejimadu Set for Burial on May 29
The Ejimadu family of Umukogu Umuebo Umuri, Amaimo in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State has announced the burial arrangements for their matriarch, Mrs. Ezinne Rose Maria Ejimadu, who passed on at the age of 86.
In a funeral notice signed by Mr. Patrick Ejimadu on behalf of the family, the deceased was described as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt whose life was marked by faith and service.
Speaking on the loss, her son-in-law and immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council, Christopher Akaraonye, said the late matriarch lived an exemplary life and left behind enduring values.
Akaraonye described her as “a loving and prayerful mother who nurtured a strong, united family and touched many lives with kindness and humility.”
According to the programme, funeral activities will begin on Friday, May 29, 2026, with the body departing Chetakwa Mortuary Atta at 7:00 a.m. for her husband’s compound in Umuri Amaimo, where lying-in-state will follow at 8:00 a.m.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Umuri Amaimo at 10:00 a.m., after which interment will take place at her husband’s compound by 1:00 p.m.
The family also announced that an outing and thanksgiving service will hold on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the same church beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Ezinne Mrs Rose Mary Ejimadu is survived by nine children, 5 daughter in-laws, three sons in-laws, twenty eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one surviving brother and sister and a host of other relations including Chief Chris Akaraonye, immediate past chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists Imo State Council.
The family prayed that her gentle soul rest in peace.
