Journalist, ThankGod Emeh Receives Accolade from Praise God Anglican Church, Fed Poly Nekede, Owerri

An illustrious indigene of Isu local government area of Imo State, Emeh Thankgod Ugochukwu, a journalist of repute and the Publisher of Mynewsconer.com, (News Corner) -an Online Newspaper, has been given an Award of Honour by the Peculiar Sisters of Praise God Anglican Church, Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, on Sunday, 28 July, 2019.

Emeh Thankgod Ugochukwu was among 27 persons who were honoured by the Peculiar Sisters during their Sisters Day celebration.
Presenting the ‘Ezi-Enyi’ accolade to the awardee, the Chaplain of Praise God Anglican Church, Rev Canon Ugochukwu Ekeocha, said the honor, Ezi- Enyi was “in recognition of your outstanding services and efforts toward the work of God and humanity”.

Emeh Thankgod Ugochukwu, shortly after receiving the Award of Honor, appreciated the Church for their collective works in God’s vineyard and for finding him worthy for the award, vowing that he will always do the work of God, as well as loving humanity irrespective of status, tribe or religion.
“I am very happy and excited about the Award of Honor to me. It is the Lord’s doing and I will continue to be very good to the Church, fear God and help in the positive change of the society. I praise God for the award of excellence and I charge politicians, clergy and other privileged people in the society to assist the less-privileged ones to cushion hardship, poverty and insecurity by way of good leadership, Godly conduct and judicious use of public money so that the society will be serene, peaceful and comfortable for all and sundry”.

“Government should also prioritize the construction or repairing of roads, the restoration of electricity and water, rescucitate the ailing healthcare centres and standardize schools across Imo in order to make life more easier and meaningful”.
The awardee however called on the present administration led by Governor Emeka Ihedioha to urgently repair the deplorable Nekede, Ihiagwa Road to save lives, as well as ease movement and encourage productivity, frowning that people who live at Nekede, Ihiagwa and the neighboring communities are suffering greatly due to bad state of Road which links two federal schools: Federal Polytechnic Nekede and Federal University of Technology, FUTO, Ihiagwa including Police Training College.

He pointed out the absent of gutters in the road construction as a major problem and called on the state government to come to intervene and construct a quality road that will stand the test of time to the users and in particular students of the Federal institutions in the area instead of yearly constructions or constructions based on politics.
Earlier, Mr Chijioke Maduegbulam, a lecturer in the School, who spoke on Vessel Unto Honor, advised the youth to seek God often to have bright future.
Mr Maduegbulam, while adding that vessel of honor means honor, truth, sincerity, meekness, charity, righteousness and fear of God as well as love of humanity, instructed them to live examplary lives to advance peace and good married life.
He warned them against immorality, rascality, materialism and cohabitation.
Highlights of the ceremony included Drama, Special Songs presentations on the event to thrill the congregation.
