The appointment is part of preparations to ensure effective media coverage, content generation and dissemination before, during and after the congress.
The congress, themed “Harnessing the Power of Sports and the Media for National Development, Youth Empowerment and Global Competitiveness,” is expected to bring together sports journalists and delegates from across the country.
Participants will deliberate on the future of sports journalism, professional development, welfare, digital transformation and the broader role of sports media in national development.
The Media Sub-Committee is mandated to coordinate content creation and dissemination across print, online, television and radio platforms, while also providing relevant and timely content for SWAN’s official website.
The committee will equally source and develop content around the congress and relevant national, continental and international sports issues, particularly those with developmental and elite sporting relevance.
Its assignment commenced immediately and will extend beyond the congress, with members expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.
SWAN urged members of the media and other stakeholders to support the committee and the association in ensuring comprehensive coverage of the congress and its outcomes.
The association expressed optimism that the Kaduna congress would be successful as it continues to strengthen sports journalism and contribute to the development of Nigerian sports.
