Imo SWAN Maiden Secondary School Table Tennis Tournament Holds June 4

As part of her effort to support the development of grass root sport in Imo State.

The Imo State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria is to organize a one day secondary school Table Tennis Championship in Owerri the State Capital as a pilot test of such sporting event.

The tournament is slated to take place on Saturday June 4th 2022 at the Bashlyks Sports House and Event Center New Owerri.

In a Press Statement issued by the Local Organizing committee of the tournament set up by SWAN Imo headed by Mr Samson Orji and Tunde Laidi as secretary said the tournament is been bankrolled by Distinguish Senator Samuel Anyanwu “Samdaddy”.

The statement said the tournament is aimed at discovering bodding talents, rekindling healthy competition among secondary schools as well as help develop the game in the state at that level.

The statement further said that SWAN Imo as critical sports stakeholder has been at the forefront of pushing and ensuring that sports and other athletic events get necessary and adequate attention both from individuals, government and cooperate bodies.

The competition which will be the inaugural edition of the SWAN “TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT” made the body to carefully and randomly select some few Secondary Schools in Owerri to participate in the median edition.

The body therefore wish to urge sports lovers, corporate organizations and well meaning Imolites to join hands with SWAN Imo in promoting grass root sports particularly at the school level.
