Heartland Mourns Ex-Protocol Officer, Tonnex Chukwu
Heartland Football Club has received with deep shock and profound sadness the news of the passing of our former Protocol Officer and Licensing Officer, Mr. Tonnex Chukwu.

Mr. Chukwu was recently involved in a road crash, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, professionalism, and unwavering passion for sports. His sudden departure is a painful loss not only to Heartland FC but to the entire Nigerian football family.
A seasoned sports journalist and former Media Officer of Enyimba FC, Mr. Chukwu served Heartland FC with distinction. During his time with the Naze Millionaires, he brought immense experience, structure, and commitment to his roles, contributing significantly to the administrative and operational growth of the club.

Reacting to the sad development, Heartland FC Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke, expressed his shock and sorrow over the loss.
“I am deeply shocked by the news of Tonnex Chukwu’s death. He was a thorough professional whose experience and insight were invaluable to Heartland FC. His passion for the game and dedication to duty stood him out. This is a painful loss, and he will be greatly missed,” Amuneke said.
He will be remembered as a passionate sportsman, a fine journalist, and a committed football administrator who gave his best to the growth of the game.
Heartland FC extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the wider football community during this difficult time.
May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
