Imo SWAN Hails Mejuobi’s Emergence as Acting NFRA President
The Imo State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated Sir Kelechi Mejuobi on his elevation as Acting President of the Nigeria Football Referees Association (NFRA).
In a press statement signed by the chapter’s secretary, Tunde Liadi, the association described the appointment as well deserved and a recognition of Mejuobi’s experience, professionalism and dedication to football refereeing in the country, adding that his emergence followed his diligent service as Deputy President of NFRA.

Led by Comrade Cosmos Chukwuemeka, Imo SWAN expressed confidence that Mejuobi will sustain and strengthen the “Rediscover NFRA Agenda” of the administration while promoting unity, transparency and excellence within the refereeing body.
The association also paid tribute to the immediate past NFRA President, late Sani Zubairu whose recent passing was described as a huge loss to Nigerian refereeing.
The association however noted that late Zubairu’s contributions to the development of refereeing in the country remain indelible.
Imo SWAN reaffirmed its support for NFRA and pledged continued collaboration in promoting professionalism, integrity and excellence in Nigerian football as it wished Mejuobi a successful and impactful tenure as he steers the association to greater heights.
