The Super Eagles is Set for World Cup Qualifier against Zambia- Gernot Rohr

The Super Eagles will have their last training session today -Friday ahead of the 218 World Cup qualifier against the Chipolopolo of Zambia at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo tomorrow -Saturday (7/10/2017)

Reports have it that today and tomorrow’s (6/10/2017) trainings have been declared shut from the press and fans for tactical reasons.

The team’s technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr said the decision was to allow the players train without distractions adding that he wants the players to experiment with the tactics they intend using against the Zambians on Saturday

Meanwhile, Zambian players and officials are now in Uyo for Saturday’s World cup qualifier against the Super Eagles.

The team will however not persecute the game with Star striker Brian Mwila who scored the winning goal against Algeria last month and Emmanuel Banda as well as Sweden-based Edward Chilufya. The three players pulled out due to injuries.

Nigeria is topping the group with ten points followed by Zambia which has seven points.

A win for the Super Eagles on Saturday will qualify Nigeria for its sixth World Cup finals.

In a related development, FIFA has announced that countries that qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia would pocket twelve million dollars which will rise if they make it to the knock-out stage.
Two million dollars would be released to the thirty-two qualified Countries as preparation fee while ten million dollars would be paid to the sixteen eliminated teams in the group stage.
