Zambia will be tougher than Cameroon – Gernot Rohr
Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has said he expects Zambia to on Saturday pose his team a bigger challenge than what African champions Cameroon offered last month.
Victory in Uyo will qualify Group B leaders Nigeria to a sixth World Cup finals even with a round of the qualifiers to be played next month.
But they will be up against a young Zambian team, whose confidence has been boosted by their win home and away against Algeria last month.
The Eagles beat Zambia 2-1 in Ndola in the reverse fixture a year ago and Rohr warned he foresees a difficult game on Saturday.
“They are champions of Africa at U20 level and they have a different team from the one we played against in Ndola, so we must not underrate this team.
“We have a lot of respect for them. They twice beat Algeria and we know it won’t be easy.
“It will be more difficult than the Cameroon game.”
Saturday’s match will kick off at 5pm inside the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
