Imo SWAN Commends Benny Naza Fans Parliament for Community Impact, Sports, Social Engagement
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Imo State Chapter, has hailed the Honourable Members of the Benny Naza Fans Parliament for their consistency, unity of purpose and positive contribution to sports promotion and community development through their week-long line-up of activities.

In a press statement released today, Friday and signed by the Secretary of the Association, Tunde Liadi, Imo SWAN described the Fans Parliament as a model of how sports-following communities can evolve into platforms for social bonding, charity and grassroots sports engagement.
The Chairman of the Association, Cosmos Chukwuemeka, while commending the initiative, noted that the Benny Naza Fans Parliament has grown beyond a casual gathering of radio listeners to become a socially responsible body with visible impact.
Activities for the week commenced with a special radio appearance on Omalicha FM yesterday, Thursday, December 18, where members of the Parliament interacted with listeners and shared insights on sports and community engagement.
The programme continues today, Friday with a novelty five-aside football match featuring two caucuses within the group — the Majority Caucus (Chelsea supporters) taking on the Minority Caucus (supporters of other football clubs), a fixture designed to promote friendship, fitness and healthy rivalry.

On Saturday, members of the Benny Naza Fans Parliament will pay a humanitarian visit to the Children of Grace Home in Akabo, reinforcing the group’s commitment to giving back to society, especially to the less privileged.
The week-long activities will be rounded off on Sunday with a simple social get-together involving family and friends at the FA Office Space, Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri by 2:00pm, to further strengthen bonds among members and stakeholders.
Imo SWAN also acknowledged the role of the convener and host of the radio programme, Benny Naza, noting with pride that he is a bona fide member of the Imo State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria.
The Association encouraged other sports media practitioners and fan-based groups to emulate the Benny Naza Fans Parliament by using sports platforms to promote unity, social responsibility and community service.
The body reaffirmed its support for initiatives that advance sports development and positive social interaction across Imo State and beyond.
