Imo people express Joy as Toronto-Uratta-Uzoagba Road nears completion
By Vivian Iwu…
The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has expressed Joy as the 2.7km remainder section of the Toronto-Uratta-Uzoagba Road nears completion.
The Governor who made his feelings known through his Social Media handle, noted that the remarkable progress of the MCC-Toronto-Uratta-Uzoagba Road Reconstruction Project, which is an 8.2km Road of which his Administration has completed and commissioned the MCC-Toronto section, marks another milestone in the Journey of transformation.
According to the Governor, when he assumed Office in his first tenure, the Road was in a deplorable state, hampering economic activities and causing distress to Residents and Commuters.
“Through strategic planning and concerted efforts, my administration prioritized this crucial route, initiating a comprehensive reconstruction effort”
The People’s Governor stated, pointing out that the palpable Joy among Residents and Users due to the Road is undeniable, and the revival of the Road not only enhances connectivity but also catalyzes economic growth, exemplifying commitment to a Road Revolution and the overall advancement of Imo State.
“If you recall when I visited here last, I did say that Owerri Capital Territory belongs to Imo State and not to any particular Local Government Area or Zone. If you open this Road to Uzoagba and Workers can go from Secretariat to Uzoagba on fifteen minutes, you are making life more bearable for our people”, Governor Uzodimma stated.
However, Residents and Commuters within the Area, expressed Joy and gratitude, stressing that Imo State is hopeful from their Area.
“Since all the previous Administrations, this Road from Uzoagba to Okatankwo has never been remembered until this present Administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma. And since his Administration we are seeing the difference.”
An anonymous stated, emphasizing that the Governor is keeping to his promise of completing the Road.
Mrs. Zita Opara thanked the Governor for bringing the Contractors back to site for the completion of the work as he promised, and expressed hope that God would also empower him to do other Rural Roads in the State.
