IMO NIPR Members Celebrate NIPR Diamond Anniversary Amid Excitement

It was with great excitement that members of Imo Chapter of NIPR, turned out en masse in a colourful atmosphere to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Owerri on Saturday June 1, 2024.
The event, with theme “Walk for Economic Transformation,” commenced at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Wetheral road Owerri and ended at Zanders Foundation at School road, Owerri.
The Walk which was done simultaneously with planting of trees had in attendance the Commissioner for Education Prof. Johncliff Nwadike, Commissioner for Tourism Barr. Jerry Egemba and the Commissioner for Information Hon.Declan Emelumba was represented.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), The Correspondents Chapel, National Association of Electronic Media Professionals of Nigeria (NAEMPON) also participated in the Walk.
Two vans with Public Address System and music provided entertaining music to the delight of the participants.
There were cars on the convoy for the elders.
Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria provided the media coverage.
There was an interesting historic lecture delivered by Fellow Ako Njemanze the oldest living member of the Chapter on the History of NIPR in Nigeria and Imo state.
Speaking on the significance of the walk, the Chairman of the Chapter, Mr Ever.Bezze Nwosu thanked all who contributed to make the event a success.
He commended the Commissioners for their support and encouragement and thanked High Chief Kennedy Zanders of Zanders Foundation for his continuous support to the chapter.
At the end of the Walk at Zanders Foundation, High Chief Kennedy Zanders owner of Zanders FM & Television magnanimously hosted the members.
There were also dancing and photographic sessions to spice up the event.
It was indeed a memorable event as friends of the Chapter, other Professional bodies and members of the Public joined in the colorful event to show that “Imo state Chapter is Boldly Public Relations”.
