Imo LGA Election: Okolieogwo Denies Converting ALGON Office To Private Campaign House …Says Accuzation Is Falsehood, Mere Distraction, Puerile, Ludicrous
By Ikenna Orioha
For the purposes of putting the records straight and the avoidance of misleading the reading innocent public and the audience, the foremost contestant for Oru West Local Government Executive Chairmanship Seat in the forthcoming Imo Council Election, Hon. Willie TC Okolieogwo (Ome Ka Odi Nma N’Oru), has denied converting the Owerri Municipal Office location of The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, (ALGON) to his private election campaign office.
The former Interim Management Committee Chairman and immediate past Sole Administrator of Oru West LGA stated that ALGON Office is located in Owerri Municipal Council Area, and does not officially belong to any government or its agency in Imo State, saying the office was rented solely by the efforts of ALGON members, wondering how he could situate his Campaign Office in Owerri Municipal LGA, whereas he is contesting the Council Election in Oru West, his Local Government Area.
Okolieogwo who civilly reacted on the media publications that accused him of converting ALGON Secretariat in Owerri Municipal to his private campaign office on Monday, urged the public to disregard the media publications as they are mere political propaganda and falsehood peddled by mischievous persons to distract him on his electioneering, knowing fully well that he is the best person aspiring for the Oru West Executive Chairmanship Position, who has all it takes to boost development, enhance peace, comfort and security at the area.

He said he is literate and intelligent enough not to have converted ALGON Office to his personal campaign office, refuting that the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ruby Emele, has never requested for any key of ALGON Office from him.
“It is the handiwork of political detractors. ALGON Office, Owerri, does not officially belong to any government or its agency in Imo State. It was purely an effort of members only and it is verifiable.
“The amiable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ruby Emele, has never at any day, requested for any key or keys of the Office from the former ALGON Chairman, Hon. Willie Okolieogwo and this is also verifiable.
“The framers of this propaganda and falsehood should look for something else to write or focus on their own campaign, instead of trying to malign a refined gentleman and the best Local Government Council and ALGON Chairman so far produced in Imo State, in the person of Adm. Hon. Willie T.C Okolieogwo (Ome Ka Odi Nma N’Oru)”, he affirmed.
Okolieogwo who exemplified governance while serving Oru West people as IMC Chairman and SOLAD respectively, added that ALGON Office is located in Owerri Municipal Council and therefore falls off the Constituency coverage of Hon. Willie TC Okolieogwo which remains Oru West Local Government Area”.
“I am literate and intelligent enough not to convert ALGON Office to my Personal Campaign Office. Let us play politics without envy, jealousy and bitterness”, Okolieogwo said.
Ambassador Willie Okolieogwo, promised to collaborate with other Government Agencies to ensure the security of lives and property of his people at all times, as well as the provision of massive infrastructural developments.
He called on the entire people of Oru West to continue to support his aspiration as he will intensify good leadership for even development if he is elected as Executive Chairman of the Council.
