Imo FA mourns demise of SWAN member, Anthony Okoroigwe
The Chairman of the Imo State Football Association, Barr Ifeanyi Dike has expressed sadness and expressed his condolences to the family of Anthony Okoroigwe and the State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) following his transition.
Late Okoroigwe, a founding member of the Imo State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) was a Journalist with a passion for excellence, morality, and a huge inspiration to many, even in his home church in Ahiazu Mbaise.
Late Okoroigwe was an institution within Imo SWAN as he had served the association diligently in various capacities, including as Secretary, Treasurer and Assistant Secretary, at different times during which he reported football activities in the State.
Okoroigwe, a seasoned and retired broadcaster at the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), distinguished himself through principled reporting, dedication to duty and an unwavering commitment to ethical journalism.
The Imo State Football Association is pained by his demise as it is a huge loss to SWAN and the Nigerian journalism community as a whole.
On behalf of the Imo State Football Association, and all football lovers in the state, I commiserate with Imo SWAN, the Okoroigwe family, and all his well wishers. It is our prayer that the Almighty God will rest his soul and grant his family and associates, the grace to bear his passing.
