I’m Determined to Govern Imo like Sam Mbakwe – Linus Okorie

A front line global leadership guru and the Governorship Candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP in Imo State, Dr Linus Okorie has assured Imolites of a remarkable and exemplary leadership that would bring about the desirable developments and as well stand the test of time in the state.

Dr Okorie gave the assurance when he visited the family of the First Civilian Governor of Old Imo, Late Chief Dr. Samuel Onunaka Mbakwe at the weekend.

Receiving the leadership coach, the first son of De Sam Mbakwe – Sir Alex Mbakwe thanked Linus for deeming to visit them, and encouraged him to keep hope alive as he sees him becoming the next governor of Imo state just as his Father.

According to him, one of the secrets of his late father as governor was the love he had for the people saying he will be happy to have a leadership coach in the person of Dr Linus Okorie as Governor of the State because he has a burning zeal to transform the state into a world class.

Sir Mbakwe added that love for the people was the driven force that made his father govern the State meritoriously to have his name stamped in the sands of time.

The former first lady of the state- wife of De Sam- Mrs Victoria Mbakwe and her other son, Mr Bobby Mbakwe who also thanked Dr Okorie and team for identifying with them, prayed God’s blessing and victory at the polls and as well encouraged him to remain resolute in his ambition, trusting God who is the giver of power.

Speaking at the function, Dr Linus Okorie thanked the family for a warm reception, encouragement and prayers for victory.

He said it has been his dream to visit the family out of his desire to continue from where De Sam Mbakwe stopped if elected the Governor adding that he came to receive blessings from the former First Lady of the state whose support to the husband made him the best governor in the history of Imo, Abia and Ebonyi.

Dr. Linus Okorie promised to leave a quality legacy just the same way De Sam did if elected stressing that he will lead with honesty and love because he is not a politician but a missionary in the politics of Imo State.

In his words, “I have always been inspired by the legacies of Late De Sam Mbakwe of blessed memory. I am here to tap from his blessings so as to continue from where he stopped. Whenever I speak on Leadership in various platforms across the world, I always use him as a reference point. Its sad to note that we have never had anyone like the First Executive Governor of Imo State. I seek the support of great people of Obowo as we seek to make Imo A world class state filled with endless possibilities”

Speaking further, the leadership expert called on the people of the area and state in general to come out enjoying masse on 9th March and vote for the YPP for a world class Imo state filled with endless possibilities.

“Give me Government House, Let me transform Imo”, he said.

It will be recalled that the campaign train of Dr Linus Okorie on the same day toured Obowo and Ihitte Uboma LGA visiting and addressing hundreds of party faithfuls, supporters and ardent followers of various communities as well as the Malaysian Market and Obowo Council of Ndi Eze in continuation of consultations and bid to occupy Douglas House come 29th May, 2019.
