Governor Emeka Ihedioha Shutdown Orji Bridge
By Francis Emekwe.

The State governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha has ordered the immediate closure of the Orji flyover built by the immediate past governor.
This is in response to public outcry for quick intervention of the State government following the deteriorating state of the bridge due to structure defects.
The governor who announced this during an emergency inspection of the bridge with a team of engineers observed that the topmost part of the bridge had caved in and could completely give way in a matter of days if it continues to be in use, adding that the closure of the bridge would prevent the loss of lives and property that may occur if it collapses.
Engr. Celestine Ugoanyanwu who disclosed that the public had raised alarm during the construction of the flyover, pointed out that it was devoid of professionalism and poses serious threat to the lives of people of the state but the immediate past governor, Owelle Okorocha never listened to them.
Meanwhile, governor Ihedioha has directed the Nigerian society of engineers in the State to carry out a thorough investigation and quality test on the project for necessary action.
