COVID-19: Ikeduru TC Chairman Eulogises Uzodimma For Tackling Disease in Imo

The Transition Management Committee Chairman of Ikeduru local government area of Imo State, Sir Tony Jude Iwuamadi, has eulogized Governor Hope Uzodimma for tackling COVID-19 as he constituted Taskforce Committee that handles the pandemic across the State as it sensitizes residents on the need for social distancing, hand sanitizing, face masking to live safely.

Iwuamadi said Governor Hope Uzodimma has also distributed palliative food and safety items to communities in Imo State to enable them cushion the effects of the disease which he regretted ravages humanity across the world, remarking that Governor Hope Uzodimma is doing well to recover, restore and rehabilitate the State.

Iwuamadi gave the commendation while interacting with journalists on Weekend at his Office, Iho- Dimeze, Ikeduru local government area headquarters.

The Ikeduru local government area Boss, disclosed that the Ikeduru Taskforce Committee came first in the fight against COVID-19 as they went round communities (and markets) across the locality sensitizing residents on the need to observe precautionary measures of hand washing, social distancing and face masking to avoid the disease for safety and healthy living.

Iwuamadi stressed that Ikeduru COVID-19 Taskforce Committee “has done up to seventy five percent sensitisation campaign across the locality, because upon our swearing- in as Transition Management Committee Chairmen, His Excellence, Governor Hope Uzodimma gave us a tasking mandate to constitute Taskforce Committee to fight COVID-19, of which my LGA came first as we provided sanitizers, T- shirts with cap as we visited markets and communities informing them of dangers of COVID-19 and the need to stay safe”.

While hailing residents of Ikeduru for being good listeners with total observance of safety tips, Iwuamadi thanked God for helping them to put in their best to fight COVID-19.

He appreciated Ikeduru sons and daughters for donating palliatives to the people to assist them assuage hunger and other effects of the chronic disease.

“Ikeduru people are nice and kind- hearted. They hugely donated palliatives which were shared through the Ezes, community leaders and the party and we still have more to distribute. Ikeduru is happy having the Governor and his Deputy, Prof Placid Njoku, who is an Ikeduru indigene, to govern Imo State. We will continue to support them to transform the Imo State to the glory of God and the good of the people”.

He reminded residents of Ikeduru to continue to observe hand washing or sanitizing, social distancing and face masking for safety and healthy living, saying good health breeds wealth and comfort living.
