Former Imo NUJ Chairman, Igwe gets new Office

The former chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalist, Imo State Council, Sir Innocent Igwe has been appointed as the National Trustee in charge of Zone C of the union.

His appointment came barely four months after leaving office and handing over to the Caretaker committee chairman in the person of Mr Francis Ebonaugwo to oversee the affairs of pen pushers in the state pending the election of substantive officers of the union.

The letter of appointment signed by the National Secretary of the NUJ, Shuaibu Usman Leman and dated 14th December, 2018 states that his appointment is in with article 5 (16) of the union’s constitution and takes immediate effect.

Sir Igwe who aspired for the post of the Vice President in charge of South Eastern zone known as Zone C in the constitution of the union but lost to the incumbent Vice president, Petrus Obi now counts it all joy as his mandate to redefine professionalism, and offer credible and effective leadership has not been cut short adding that when one door closes, another better one opens.
