FEDPONEK SJC Inaugurates Student Barristers

The Chief Judge of the students judicial arm of Student Union Government, Federal Polytechnic Nekede, His lordship Michael Offor on 11th September, 2019 Inaugurates new student barristers in the institution.
The event which took place at the School of Industrial and Applied Sciences(SIAS) 500-Capacity Building played host to other South Eastern Chief Judges of Tertiary institutions who assisted in officiating the Call to Bar Ceremony.
Barrister Anthony Obi of the Equity Chambers of the institution while delivering an article on ‘The Need For Barristers to be Vibrant’ advised the Students to be
focused in the academic and career pursuits and never be distracted by their surroundings.
In his words, “Fear is the only thing that will make you not achieve your aims and goals in life and the only thing that can kill a Man is fear”
Barrister Anthony advised the new barristers to live up to expectations of their calling by emulating their senior colleagues who have made name in the legal practice.
“Seeing our Senators in the Plenary motivate me to speak without fear and I encourage you to emulate them”, Anthony said.
Earlier, an Intending Barrister, Mr Emmanuel Useh who expressed Joy on the event told News Corner that he cannot wait to be a barrister on campus as it has been his dreams for a very long time.
“I cannot wait for my call to bar, I feel like this occasion is all about me because I am enjoying every bit of it, So finally I will be a barrister today, and Resipsa Loquito”.
He added that as a barrister, he would protect and fight for the interest of Nigerian students.
The highlight of the event was the procession of the entire new and old wigs of the students judicial council and most vibrant Barrister on campus challenge geared at eliminating fear and stage fright as the event also witnessed heavy presence of Security Guards to ensure the safety of the Λparticipants.
