Ex-NANS leader hails Prof. Stella Ngozi Lemchi for emerging first substantive VC of Alvan Ikoku Fed University of Education Owerri
An ex-leader and seasoned stakeholder of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comr. Ejike PraiseGod, has heartily congratulated Prof. Stella Ngozi Lemchi on her emergence as the First Substantive Vice Chancellor of Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education (AIFUE) Owerri.

In a release signed and made available to journalists in Owerri on Thursday, Ejike said her appointment was a milestone and a testament to her verifiable achievements during her tenure as Provost of the former Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education and her subsequent role as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University.
Ejike hinted that during her tenure as Provost, Prof. Lemchi was very instrumental in securing approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for 25 new academic programs, significantly broadening the institution’s academic offerings and enhancing its appeal to prospective students.
“In her capacity as Acting Vice Chancellor of Alvan, Prof. Lemchi continued to drive the institution’s progress. She restructured the University’s security architecture, promoting best practices to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for all students”, Ejike stressed.
He added that “Prof. Lemchi placed the welfare of students at the forefront of her administration and implemented policies to ensure accessible healthcare services for students, improved hostel conditions. These measures fostered a supportive environment for academics and personal growth.
“Under her leadership, Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education witnessed significant infrastructural advancements. These gains included the construction and renovation of lecture halls, laboratories, libraries and staff offices. Her ability to secure funding from government bodies and international organizations ensured that the institution’s facilities met global standards.

“Enhanced stakeholder collaboration: Also Prof. Lemchi strengthened ties with alumni, government agencies and the host community, securing additional resources and fostering goodwill for the institution.
“These tangible accomplishments have undoubtedly contributed to Prof. Lemchi emergence as the First Substantive Vice Chancellor of the Institution”, He emphasized.
Hence, Ejike expressed confidence that, “given her proven track records, Prof. Lemchi will continue to lead the University to greater heights. Her leadership will usher in an era of unprecedented progress for Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education”.
The Unionist urged stakeholders, including students, alumni, staff and the host community, to rally behind Prof. Lemchi.
“Her vision and dedication to the growth of this Institution require the collective support of everyone to ensure the realization of a greater Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education,” he stated.
Ejike, a seasoned stakeholder of NANS, reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting Prof. Lemchi administration to succeed.
“We will continue to show solidarity with the University’s leadership, ensuring that the Institution’s progress remains a top priority and that Prof. Lemchi objectives for greater Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, is achieved 100 percent.
“Prof. Stella Ngozi Lemchi historic appointment symbolizes a new chapter for the University, one that promises excellence, inclusivity and global recognition”, the great leader maintained.
