Former Imo Gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP and current National Secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (SamDaddy) in the spirit of Valentine’s season and further speaking truth to humanitarian actions across boards, on Wednesday February 17, 2025 flagged off 2.5million Naira Sponsorship programme for 250 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) applicants of Ikeduru local government area of Imo state.

The programme which attracted critical stakeholders and students in their numbers amid cheers and prayers for the Sponsor according to the organizing committee is aimed at promoting the importance of education as well as providing succour to the needy in the locality.

The Organizers equally announced the resolve of the Benefactor, Senator Anyanwu (SamDaddy) to also sponsor 250 Ikeduru students for the upcoming 2025 West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate (WASSC) Examinations.


Addressing the people at the occasion, the President of Amaimo Progressive Union, Chief Nnamdi Iheoma said the sponsorship programme is a remarkable project while commending Senator Anyanwu for investing in education and making the sponsorship open to all needy indigenes of Ikeduru local government area.

“I thank Our Leader, for his efforts to better our communities. I pray God Almighty to strengthen him to do more and not relent in any way”
“He has shown resilience in the political field and humanitarian gestures and we plead with him not to relent but to continue and ensure that he completes what he has started”
Chief Iheoma however urged the students to work hard to benefit more from the Programme and as well reap the fruit of education at the long run.

“I think it is an opportunity for Ikeduru students to showcase themselves, cue into the programme and achieve their target goals”
Charging the Applicants to be diligent in their academic pursuits, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Sir Havenson Ashiegbu noted that the beneficiaries cut across the 29 communities void of part lines adding that there are set aside prizes for exceptional students.

The Chairman assured the people of a successful outing as he thanked the committee members for doing their beats diligently.

Sir Ashiegbu also acknowledged the interests of the Sponsor in capacity building of the students hence the announcement of an additional sponsorship programme for 2025 WAEC applicants in the area.
The Director General of Divine Mandate foundation, a brain child of Senator Anyanwu, Engr. Prince Marshal Okafor urged the students to take their academics seriously.

Prince Okafor stressed that Education is not a scam as roundly mistaken hence called on the Applicants not to allow themselves to be wrongly influenced.
Speaking on behalf of the Traditional rulers in Ikeduru local government area, the Traditional Ruler of Obodo Amaimo autonomous community, Eze Victor Achionye Udo 1 of Obodo Amaimo at the event eulogized Senator Samuel Anyanwu for the impactful gesture, describing him as a humanitarian per excellence as he prayed for greater heights and exploits.

Eze Achionye however charged the students to live to the expectations of the scheme as “whom much is given, more is expected”
One of the community leaders of Obodo Amaimo autonomous community; an astute academic and Secretary to the Sponsorship Organising Committee, Dr. James Akaraonye enjoined the students to heed to all instructions concerning their successful JAMB registrations, adding that all processes must be followed to the later.

Two beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others, Master Iwuchukwu Victory from Umudurujiaku Amuzu Amaimo and Miss Sylvester Precious from Amata Ikeduru expressed appreciation for the individual gesture and prayed God to abundantly bless their Benefactor.
