”Don’t come back to South Africa” – South Africans threaten Stanley Nwabali
South Africans has warned Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali not to return back to his club, Chipper United after the AFCON following his impressive display against the Bafana Bafana in the Semi Final of the competition.
Recall that the Super Eagles of Nigeria recently locked horns with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa and it is one of the toughest game of the tournament.
Troost Ekong opened the scoreline for the Super Eagles in the 67th minutes but they were not ahead for long as Mokoena put the Bafana Bafana back on level terms in the 90th minutes after converting from the spot.
The game went into extra time after both teams played a 1-1 draw at full time. After the extra time, they went straight into the penalty shootout.
Nigeria were able to convert 4 of the 5 penalties taken, while South Africa were able to convert just 2 of theirs.
Stanley Nwabali was declared the man of the match after the game and that was because of his impressive display, he saved two penalties to ensure that his country makes it to the final and it seems like South Africans are not too happy about that.
During a recent Interview with Channels Television, Peterside Idah who is part of the coaching team revealed that South Africans have been threatening Nwabali since the encounter.
He further stressed that they have warned him not to return to the country.
In his Words “The biggest problem we have had, we have got people sending messages to the Goalkeeper, threatening him. Some people are threatening him not to come back to South Africa, that since he didn’t want them to score, he should stay back, this is not acceptable. They have been threatening him and threatening some people”, Peterside Idah said and it stirred massive reactions from the general public.
