DNKI Commends Imo Governor On Measure Against Covid-19, Ends 3-day Health Retreat
The Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma has been commended for taking appropriate proactive measures which helped to put Corona Virus under control in the state.

Elder Obiora Nwigwe, Guv’ner DeNorsemen Kclub International,(DNKI) Imo State Patrol who made the commendation in a press conference to mark the end of the Kclub’s 3 Days Health Retreat at Crystal lake Hotel Oguta on 30th August 2020, pointed out that COVID 19 cases are still very low in the state compared to other states in the Country, adding that Imo State Government under Governor Hope Uzodinma has done marvelously well in the control and management of Corona Virus cases in the state.
Elder Nwigwe who used the opportunity to call on other stakeholders in the state to support the Governor’s efforts in ensuring that COVID 19 is put under total control in the state, however announced the resolution of the Kclub to support and partner with Shared Prosperity Government to make sure that Imo State is adequately safe from Corona Virus, noting that COVID 19 is real.
He maintained that the essence of the 3 days Health Retreat for the Kclub members was to update and reorientate them on the needs to live healthy, stressing that healthy life styles will help the fight against COVID 19 to be Victorious.
According to him, ” Gentlemen of the press, we want to use this opportunity to announce the closing of our 3 days Health Retreat in Oguta LGA. We used the 3 days Health Retreat to educate, reorientate and update our members on healthy life styles and the needs to observe all Government directives, instructions and guidelines to overcome Corona Virus pandemic. We want to also use this unique opportunity to commend Governor Hope Uzodinma for all his efforts and dedication towards ensuring that Imo State is safe from Corona Virus”.
Speaking on his Next Level 2.0 Agenda, Elder Nwigwe said, ” We have both individually as persons and collectively as a group shown renewed interest towards the growth and massive development of the society considering our motto which is service to humanity. It is a call for service, dedication to humanity, sacrifices, focus and reorientation of our core values, hence we collectively conceived the idea of this inaugural Retreat to enable us reset our collective mindsets towards healthy life styles and other health related matters. DNKI as a Global organization strongly believe in promotion of brotherhood, unity, and love in the society which is our core value.”
Elder Nwigwe further used the opportunity to announce 3 days 2020 annual fasting and prayer for the Kclub members, noting that the event will start on Wednesday 16th September to Friday 18th September 2020.
” The core prayer points shall be for success, defeat of COVID 19 pandemic, favours from God and growth of DNKI worldwide. The 3 days event will be rounded off with a jumat service on Friday 18th September and Thanksgiving service on Sunday 20th September in all the Patrols Worldwide.”
The Director, South East of DNKI, Comrade Okenwa Nnachi Uka in his remarks at the occasion, described Imo State Patrol as the best in the zone, pointing out that it is the only Patrol in South East Zone with sixteen functional chapters.
Nnachi Uka who commended the International President of DNKI, Chief Dr Adeshola Giwa for raising the bar of membership of the Kclub, however promised to recommend Health Retreat to other Patrols in South East Zone, arguing that Imo State has set a wonderful pace that should be emulated by others.
The Chairman of Elders Council of Imo State Patrol, Engr. Okenze Chidi in his vote of thanks, expressed profound gratitude to the Guv’ner of the Kclub for demonstrating high level of courage, wisdom and dedication in piloting the affairs of the Kclub, stressing that the Health Retreat was a huge success.
He said, ” I wish to use this medium to thank the Almighty God for a day like this. A special day that announced a new era in the history of our Kclub, I give all the glory to his name. All the International delegates and resource persons whose presence have added much value to this event, I say thank you. All the target audience of this Retreat, I appreciate you.”
Dr Izuchukwu Okoro in his focal lecture with the Theme: Healthy Living, Key Issue. Next Level 2.0, urged the Kclub members to embark on regular exercise, balanced nutrition and adequate rest which he said contribute to good health.
Dr Okoro pointed out that poor life style choices like smoking, abuse of alcohol, poor diet, lack of physical exercise are key contributors of poor health status.
He further reminded members of the Kclub to go for medical check-up regularly, noting that most people visit hospital only when they are seriously sick.
The highpoints of the 3 days Health Retreat include all kinds of sports activities, visitation to Traditional Ruler of Oguta Ameshi, boat ride, road walk against COVID 19 and visit to tourist sites in the area.
