Dr Livinus Iwuozo Obilo, a super philanthropist, who based in the United States of America, has given food items worth millions of Niara to the people of Umuchieze- Obollo, Isiala Mbano local government area, Imo State to relieve them from the hard times of Covid19.
The gesture, according to the renowned medical practitioner and consultant, is to help the people cushion the effects of the hardship caused by measures taken to combat the novel pandemic in the State.
Giving the relief items to the people on his behalf, recently, the donor’s younger brother, Hon. Francis Obilo, noted that the gesture was in line with Dr. Obilo’s continued demonstration of genuine concern for the overall well-being of his people.
He appealed to the beneficiaries to accept the food items with good faith as he urged their leaders to ensure that everyone especially the destitute, poor widows including poor orphans among them get reasonable portions.
He equally asked them to adhere strictly to the precautionary measures against the virus, intensify their prayers for God to intervene over the disease so that it stops soon while appealing to them to also put the donor and his family in their prayers so that God continues to preserve them and grant them the enablements to always remember them.
Reacting on behalf of the people, Mr. Goddy Nwudo, Chairman of the Village, eulogized Dr. Obilo for his magnanimity and prayed to God to continue to bless him and his family.
The people maintained that the relief food items will be equitably distributed across the seven kindreds which constitute the Village and begged other well-meaning and wealthy sons and daughters of the Village to emulate Dr. Obilo on philanthropy and chivalry.
Contributing, some of the beneficiaries of the relief food items, Mrs. Helen Osuji, Mrs. Bethel Onyenezide, James Njoku, among others praised Dr. Obilo for the gesture, praying for quick ending of coronavirus pandemic.
Dr. Obilo is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Healthcare Foundation and a retired General in the US Army.
