Chima Amadi Harps on Socio-economic Change in Imo, Unveils TMO
By Onyinyechi Nwankwo

Unhappy with the low socio-economic level of Imo State, an economist, Dr. Chima Amadi, has harped on the need for all round revolution in the governance of the state.
Amadi stressed the need for the socio-economic change in Imo governance while addressing a large crowd during the official inauguration of The Mazi Organization (TMO), Owerri Bloc, held at Government Technical College (GTC), Owerri, recently.

He expressed dissatisfaction in the economic state of Imo State which he said is not faring well and consequently has adversely affected the living of citizens.
In his words, “as an economist who understands the economic state of a state, I have facts to prove that the socio-economic level of our state is very low and needs to be better. We are not doing well in consumption likewise economically”.
Amadi urged citizens to know and put their rights into action against rulers who he accused of destroying the patrimony, as well as syphoning the state’s treasury, in order to improve the socio-economic level of the state, internalize peace, goodness and actual development.

The economist who informed that he represents a new way of doing things, regretted that the infrastructure sectors of the state including education, healthcare system and electricity have been destroyed as none of them is working optimally, leaving the people to hardship.
“We need to restore sanity in Imo State. Imo people should rise and reclaim the state. It is bad that every patrimony that our fathers left for us has all been recklessly destroyed by today’s leaders.
“The hotels, farm settlements, hospitals, schools, industries, among others, are not working well and how will they work well when these leaders cannot even run their own businesses”, he said.

While stating that it is not yet time for him to play politics, Amadi told The Mazi Organization Coordinators to go into the communities and local government areas to sensitize the people of the good intention of The Mazi Organization in helping them to meet their needs, as well as critically resist bad leadership in the interest of the state.
In his address earlier, the Coordinator of The Mazi Organization, Comr. Obioma Onwuegbucha, noted that TMO “is a force dedicated to empowering our communities and achieving political and developmental goals. TMO serves as our guiding principle and commitment to this noble cause, thanking Dr. Chima Amadi for being a blessing to humanity.
Among other leaders who graced the event were, a known politician Okenze Obinna, former Imo State House of Assembly Members who represented Ngor-Okpala and Ihitte-Uboma State Constituencies, Hon. Blyden Amajuruonwu, Hon. Uche Ogbuagu, Hon. Crown Njoku and Bishop Athan Azubike
