APOLOGY: You’re Epitome Of Humility -Ngoforo Hails Ihedioha …Says Leaders Should Emulate Imo Ex-Governor

As praises continue to trail the recent television appearance of the Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, in which the former Governor of Imo state threw more light on the context that prompted his speech in Ghana and also apologized for making his teeming lovers and supporters feel hurt, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mazi Franklin Ngoforo, has said Ihedioha’s apology has shown his humility and strength of character, adding that such uncommon gesture has earned him the admiration, love and respect of even more millions of people.

Ngoforo said this during a chat with newsmen in Owerri, the Imo state capital, over the weekend.

According to the Ideato-born industrialist, what Ihedioha did on national television is a huge testimony to his meekness, his sensitivity to the feelings of the people and deep respect and appreciation of the love which the masses have for him. For Ngoforo, when love is appreciated and reciprocated, it attracts more love.

His words: “Watching Ihedioha on national television, I could not believe our nation could produce such a leader in our time. Many of those who parade as leaders are haughty, arrogant, boastful and insensitive. For each wrong they do, they also perpetrate a thousand more wrongs to either cover it up or to justify it. The trouble with Nigeria is mainly lack of leaders that listen to the heartbeats of the citizens, and who don’t give a hoot about the pangs of their followers. This is the reason a President could describe an entire nation of people as ‘a dot in a circle’, yet till this moment has not shown any remorse.

“But Ihedioha has raised the bar. He has set a model in leadership which must be emulated by all leaders. He has eloquently demonstrated that he stands with the people and he is always eager to do that which brings the greatest happiness to the greatest number of people. This commitment to common good is what our country lacks at this moment,” he decried.

Continuing, Ngoforo said: “Some of the revelations which Ihedioha made during the television interview were never known until then. For instance, he was actually among those who put up a strong fight within the PDP for the presidential ticket of the party to be micro-zoned to the South East.

“Ihedioha was also among the few leaders from the South East who fully and instantly threw their weight behind Peter Obi when his nomination as vice presidential candidate of the PDP in 2018 was rejected by majority of the leaders from the South East. With these revelations, Ihedioha has not just proven to be a patriot but also a true son who embodies the vision, dreams and aspirations of our people.”

He appealed to Ndigbo to shun in-fighting and to unite and ensure that the misrule of the APC is brought to an end next year, saying the rule of the APC has brought agonies and pains to the people of the South East.
