Imo LGA Inauguration: Hon. Nze Akpaka clamours for Innovative leadership …promises to deliver on expectations

Honourable Christopher Onyeka, the Councilor representing Elelem Obike (Ward 2) in Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area, of Imo has promised to deliver a youth-centered and result-oriented programmes and policies to his constituents

Onyeka, popularly known as Nze Akpaka, made the promise after signing the Oath of office register on Monday October 15, 2024 during the inauguration of the newly elected Ngor-Okpala Councilors, at the Ngor-Okpala Local Government Council Headquarters, Umuneke.

Our correspondent reports that Imo State under the leadership of Gov. Hope Uzodimma on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2024 conducted election for chairmen and councilors across the 27 local government areas of state.

He also promised to empower youths and women in the area through various skills acquisition, Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Renewable energy as well as scholarships to qualified and deserving students in the constituency.

Nze Akpaka, a revered custodian of culture and advocate of entrepreneurial initiatives described Information Communication Technology (ICT) and renewable energy as the way forward for communities in the contemporary era.

He, therefore, charged members of his constituents to be innovative for the betterment of Ngor-Okpala and Imo State in general.

He emphasized his undying resolve to further enlighten the people on the importance of proper waste management and its advantages, noting that he is one of the pioneer tutors on waste management and entrepreneurship in the LGA.

Hon. Akpaka expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve his people, and promise to carry everyone along, especially the youth of the constituency “who are tirelessly supportive.”

“I urge you all to join me to leverage on this capacity as a councilor to sensitize and upgrade us; let’s not overlook our daily opportunities.

“We have to start with what we have. Ngor-Okpala is a blessed land, it is time to tap from its bounties through a goal-driven entrepreneurship campaign.

“ We shall focus on digitization and conversation of renewable energy. I have introduced waste management initiative in Ngor-Okpala long ago, and will not stop, not now,” Nze Akpaka said.

He, however, extolled the leadership qualities of the state Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, describing him as a democratic, and listening governor.

The innovative and result oriented Councilor also commended the executive Chairman of Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Chika Ibekwe for her doggedness and commitment in ensuring a seamless conduct of the swearing in ceremony.

The highlight of the event was Executive Election of the Council leadership by the 11 LGA councilors where Hon. Agbugba Donald of Obiangwu ward alongside Hon. Levi Chidi Eke of Ozuzu Ward emerged Leader of the Council and Deputy leader respectively with 8 votes against their opponents who garnered only 3 votes each.

The newly inaugurated councilors include Hon. Alulu Emmanuel Nkwocha (Amala/ntu/obokwe/oburu ward), Hon. Onyeka Christopher C (Elelem/obike (Ward 2) Levi Chidi Eke (Ozuzu (Ward 3), Ikechukwu Chigbu (Eziama/okpala (Ward 4), Hon. Akuta Ekene Fabian (Imerienwe (Ward 5), and Hon. Okereafor Chidiebere Mitchel (Nguru/Umuowa (Ward 6)

Other Councilors are Hon. Mrs Celestina Opara (Ihitte Ngor/Umukabia (Ward 7), Hon. Chinedu Okere Christopher (Ohekelem/Nnorie (Ward 8), Hon. Okereafor Chidinmma D. (Umuhu (Ward 9), Hon. Agbugba Donald C. (Obiangwu (Ward 10) and Hon. Eke Uba Justus (Logara/Umuohiagu Ward 11).
