All Nigerian Editors’ Conference In Progress In Uyo, Akwa Ibom …As Tinubu; Eno, Akwa Ibom Gov. Reel Out Achievements

The 19th All Nigerian Editors Conference has successfully commenced on Wednesday at Uyo, Akwa Ibom after the President, Alhaji Bola Tinubu had officially declared it open at Ibom Icon Hotel and Golf Resort under the chairmanship of Mr Sam Amuta, the Founder and Chairman of Vanguard Newspapers.
The President who was represented by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Muhammed Idris Malaji had charged the editors to positively involve themselves in the publicity and image of the nation so as to help attract foreign investors.
The President lauded the Nigerian Guild of Editors led by Mr Eze Anaba describing this year’s theme of conference as highly relevant which is ‘Stimulating Economic Growth, Technological Advancement: Role of the Media’.
President Tinubu disclosed to the editors that he has signed five executive orders so far aimed at stimulating the economy for growth and to attract foreign investments.
Laying down his own contributions as the Minister for Orientation and National Orientation, Alhaji Idris Malaji had promised to restore to the public domain, the confidence of those at the helm of Information management, urging editors to anchor on Information that are factual and fruitful.
In his remark, the governor of Akwa Ibom state, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno had told the editors to tread with caution in the course of breaking news so as not to break the fabric of the society.
He revealed that the Government owned airline company will before long begin flight operations to Ghana and other countries in Africa promising that his government will get more brand new Aircrafts for the purpose of boosting their fleet.
Governor Eno also stated that his government had started building model schools with Teachers quarters in order to raise the standards of education in their state.
The ongoing editors’ conference was well attended by men of substance from both the media industry and the government.
