A Peep Into Charles Ahize’s Peace Plan For Orlu Zone (1)
BY: JAMES IGBO…
Labour Party’s Senatorial Candidate for Orlu Zone (Imo West), Charles Ugochukwu Ahize, has an intellectual shine on him that makes him unique compared to others jostling for the position. He has an in-depth knowledge of issues and practical steps of solving them. He seems compelled by existential factors affecting the lives of his people. He obviously understands their direct and indirect predicaments.
Ahize has toured the entire length and breadth of Imo West. He has underscored what ails and aches them. He is evidently apprised of the grim tales of displacement, loss, anguish and pain in his beloved but beleaguered Orlu Zone.
Thus, Charles Ahize understands where the proverbial shoe pinches his people the most. His candidacy is a radical break with the practice of “chartered” politicians who pay only a knee-jerk attention to the main issues. These politicians are only after hoodwinking the masses who they essentially find gullible. They are not driven by the pulse of the people; neither are they compelled by essential factors beclouding the people. Already, some have started making fantastic promises which are only a flash in the pan. These are candidates bereft of the necessary intellectual elements to serve the people.
Any sincere candidate for Imo West knows that the first agenda on the card is a comprehensive peace plan. This is where the frontline candidate, Charles Ahize, deserves the commendation of everyone. His intellectual savvy seems profound as he has already developed a comprehensive peace plan which he plans to frontally prosecute when elected. This peace plan is goaded towards recovering Orlu. Indeed no other candidate has this noble mission of recovery.
Essentially, no other agenda may make meaning when a land has not been recovered. For a senatorial district with a whopping 12 local councils (enough to form a sub-national entity) like Imo West, the recovery project seems timely and compelling. It is envisioned to bring back the lost glory and appeal of the zone which has in recent times become a shadow of itself.
Charles Ahize’s peace plan is all-encompassing in its tripartite approach of engagement, engineering and empowerment. These powerful E’s are psychologically tailored towards recovering the peace in Orlu. It is only in an atmosphere of peace that social and economic activities can thrive. It is also in a peaceful environment that the agrarian potentials of the zone can manifest. The three E’s are manifestly realistic achievable and credible. There is a sense of intellectual industry in their articulation.
Ultimately, Ahize’s peace agenda is completely winnowed of petty politics common with the petty bourgeoisie in the political class. It is an agenda that frontally engages the issue at hand with an absolute aim of resolving them.
Thankfully, Charles Ahize’s peace plan has a timeline towards actualizing his agenda. This is because the ideas enunciated to stabilize Orlu are researchable, achievable and practicable. His peace plan is therefore envisioned for an absolutist stability which is steeped in sustainability.
In all his life, Charles Ahize has been involved in peace and bridge building initiatives anchored on humanitarian ideals. He had achieved peace even in hitherto intractable situations. He is famed for his community development ingenuity. When he is then vested with a legislative mandate, chances are that he would surpass expectations.
Dear people of Imo West, it was Ola Rotimi the famous dramatist, that rightly posited in one of his plays that he who does not do something fast is crippled fast. What to do fast here is to queue up behind Charles Ahize, the veteran activist and community leader who has excelled in business and prevailed in human capital development. His party is the pan-Igbo party because it is the party that would place Ndigbo on a pedestal of strength.
It is the same Labour Party that is fielding the prospective president of Nigeria; the first of Igbo extraction, the vintage Peter Obi. It is still the same Labour Party expected to people the National Assembly to give a President Obi the needed legislative support. Yes, it is the party of the Nigerian family, poised to restore the stolen dignity of an ordinary Nigerian.
God bless Imo West Senatorial District. And may Charles Ahize prevail.
