2023: Southern Nigerian Youths Drag PDP Over Open Ticket ….Issues PDP 7-days Ultimatum or Risk Termination in S’East
Following the ploy by the leadership of People’s Democratic Party, PDP to make the party’s ticket open, the President of Southern Nigeria Ethnic Youth Leaders Assembly, Comrade Felix Worlu has threatened to send the party to her untimely grave if it does not desist from her conspiracy.
Speaking through the National Secretary General, Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka, alongside Comrade Worlu accused the PDP of turning the nights of South-Easterners into mere daylight.
According to Worlu, throwing PDP presidential ticket Open, the party is clearly murdering justice, fairness, and equity in the Nigerian nation.
He said: “Since PDP has murdered sleep from our eyes, therefore, they wouldn’t sleep again in Southern Nigeria until the party is finally buried.”
Comrade Worlu who also is the president of Ikwerre Youth Council opined that “PDP office/flag from ward level to State will for no reason, whatsoever be in Southern Nigeria if they dare deny a South-Easterner PDP presidential ticket.
Decrying the mischievous plot, the President said: “By throwing PDP presidential ticket Open, PDP has murdered justice, fairness, and equity. Therefore, Southern Nigeria Ethnic Youth Leaders Assembly shall apply every political means both conventional and unconventional to send a signal to PDP from the day of the Primary if they deny Southeast presidential Aspirants tickets.
Continuing, he insisted on the call for a rotatory style of presidency, saying it is the only way to ensure a sustainable peaceful coexistence in the country.
“With every fairness, the Southern Nigeria Ethnic Youth Leaders Assembly insists on a rotational president as a condition to guarantee peace and Unity in Nigeria. PDP by their actions wants to destroy Nigeria which was painstakingly built by Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and the Nigeria General Yakubu GOWON fought for in 1967/70.
Comrade Worlu, therefore, appealed to Yusuf Magaji Bichi, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno, Maj. Gen. S.A Adebayo and Maj. Gen. Bashir Salihi Magashi to call the PDP leadership to order regarding the party’s presidential ticket, lamenting that, “their actions may mar Nigeria Unity”
Comrade Felix Worlu stated “I am urging the Director of Department of Security Service Yusuf Magaji Bichi, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Director Maj. Gen. S.A Adeayo, National Security Adviser (NSA) Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno, National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Director Ahmed Rufai Abubakar and Minister of Defense Maj. Gen. Bashir Salihi Magashi to advise various political parties not to deny South-Easteners presidential Aspirants tickets to run 2023 presidential election and to know that PDP is an enemy of democratic principle and enemy of justice.
“Therefore, they should not have any business to site their office let alone mount their flags in any part of Southern Nigeria.”
Speaking emphatically, Worlu regretted that the Southeast region of the country had been deprived of opportunities of producing a president of the federal republic of Nigeria, for fifty-seven (57) years.
He stressed that Nigeria could only reconcile Ndigbo into Nigeria’s political project by strictly yielding the presidential tickets to aspirants from the geopolitical zone, reiterating that, “therefore, PDP is morally obliged to cede their presidential ticket to Southeast”.
“Rotatory presidency is where Southern Nigeria Ethnic Youth Leaders Assembly stands. No doubt, that Southeast Nigeria has been marginalized and deprived of the presidency since 33 years of Military rule and 24 years of Democracy rule” Comrade Worlu recounted.
The Southern Nigeria Ethnic Youth Leaders Assembly, therefore, gives PDP 7-days to reconsider ceding PDP presidential tickets to Southeast “or be ready to bear the gravious consequences of such Injustice and Marginalization against Southeastners, Comrade Worlu threatened.
