Van Gaal better than Ferguson, Mourinho – Rooney
DC United striker, Wayne Rooney, has claimed that Louis van Gaal is the best manager he has worked with in his career.
Rooney, who played under Sir Alex Ferguson for a long time at Old Trafford, only featured for two years under Van Gaal.
However, the former England captain has picked him ahead of Ferguson and Jose Mourinho.
“I think David Moyes was a bit of a surprise choice but his record at Everton over 10 years was great.
“It didn’t work for Moyes and they (Manchester United) then went for the experience of Louis van Gaal.
“He was tactically the best I have worked with – in terms of setting you up in a shape defensively and everyone knowing their roles.
“It was just about getting the attacking side right as well as the defensive side.
“He won a few trophies but it didn’t pan out the way everyone would have hoped
