Uzodimma charges Ohaji youths on positivity, as NACOY holds election

Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has charged youths of Ohaji to continue to exhibit positive trait by conducting themselves well while being productive in order to achieve thorough peace, economic prosperity and social security.
The Governor gave the charge through his SA on Youth Mobilization, Hon. Odogu Deka, during the 6th election of National Congress of Ohaji Youth (NACOY), held at Umuagwo, Ohaji, Saturday.
Uzodimma said he loves and cherishes the people of Ohaji and hence urged the youth to continue to exhibit positive behavior by shunning crime, violence, advising losers and winners of the election to embrace themselves and work in one accord to advance peace and development in the area.
Indeed, the election was conducted in an open secret ballot method as 9 delegates from each community freely voted for candidates of their choice who presented their manifestoes prior to the well organized election.
Before the commencement of the poll, the Electoral Committee Chairman and a Commissioner in ISOPADEC, Hon. Davis Ogbuji, advised delegates and contestants to conduct themselves orderly and peacefully to enable them have a fair election that would produce quality, dutifully minded leaders that could strengthen peace, unity, development and security in Ohaji enclave, reminding the youth of the need to uphold objectives, aims and interests of NACOY to move forward.
Thus, a community leader in Umuwaku and Electoral Committee member in charge of Media, Hon. Chief Vitalis Jiakponna, stated that the outcome of the election had demonstrated that Ohaji is peaceful and united.
Just as Member representing Ohaji/Egbema State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Uzoma Francis Osuoha (Eze Buguma), expressed happiness about the smooth conduct and success of the election, reassuring youths of Ohaji/Egbema of his partnership and cordiality to gain common interest for the good of all persons.
Hence, Comr. Nwosu Tochi Nicholas, a native of Mgbirichi, emerged President of NACOY, having scored 85 votes. He defeated Comr. Gilbert Igweka Nwanorim (Ohoba) and Comr. Obilonu Andrew Ezinduamaka (Abakuru) who polled 35 and 47 ballots respectively.
Other new exco members of NACOY are: Elechi Damian U (Vice President 1), Nwaechi Peter Clever (Vice President 11), Igwealex Victor Nzubechi (Treasurer), Amadi Innocent Okwudiri (PRO 11), Elazu Charles Chibuike (PRO 1), Emeka Tunde Amadi (Provost 1), Edi Okezuo Victor (Secretary General), Nwulu Justice (Auditor General), Ugwuegbulam Ezekiel Chidiebere (Org. Secretary 1), Amadi Susan (Woman Leader), Amaechi Evans Chidi (Financial Secretary) and Onyeneke Empire Bekee (PRO 1).
In his inaugural speech after being sworn- in and issued certificate, the newly elected NACOY President, Comr. Tochi Nwosu Nicholas, promised that he will work with every conscious Ohaji youth in cooperation with leaders of the locality “to make sure that Ohaji is included in the scheme of things in Imo State and beyond.
“Every body will be on the same page in this administration to demand the rights of Ohaji people, to struggle, to fight against the marginalization we have already observed, to make sure that Ohaji is included in the scheme of things. The Electoral Committee has done a marvelous work in conducting one of the freest and credible elections for NACOY. I have embraced those who contested with me. I want to also assure them that we are going to work together to meet our common goal. No Victor, No Vanquished. Every body is a winner. Victory of this election is dedicated to every conscious Ohaji youth; we are going to make Ohaji proud together, the collective interest of Ohaji is unnegotiable”, Nwosu said.
