By Eleugu Mgbemgasa…

A lecturer in the Department of Estate Management, Rivers State University, Portharcourt, Dr. Utchay Okorji, has been decorated with a Fellowship Award by Baptist College of Theology Obinze (BACOTHO), Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State.
The Fellowship Award was presented to Dr. Utchay Okorji on Saturday, during the 54th Graduation/Fellowship Award Ceremony of Baptist College of Theology Obinze.
Conferring the Fellowship Award on Utchay Okorji, Rector of the College, Rev. Prof. Reuben Chuga, noted that the Honor came due to his humanitarian service, his contribution to the growth of the Gospel and development of the institution.
Reacting, the recipient promised that the Fellowship Award would spur him to do more humanitarian work, as well as donate passionately to the advancement of the College in both Ahoda and Obinze towns.
Okorji said he feels happy and “honored. It is a call to service, a commitment to be more conscious of what is around us. A call to contribute to the actual development of institutions especially that of the Baptist College of Theology Obinze”.
He added, “coincidentally, there is also a campus of Baptist College of Theology in Ahoda, where I come from. I think that this is a call for me to be conscious of that campus. Though I have not been there. It is a consciousness for me to contribute my own quota. For me, it is a partnership, a thing everyone of us should be concerned about. I appreciate the Honor. I thank the school management for finding me worthy of the Award to which I vow to continually respond to in terms of benevolence and commitment to the service of God and humanity”.
He charged the graduands to always be conscious of the fact that they will have to contribute positively to society to make it a better place for all persons.
