Umunwahu Kindred, Egbu Raises Alarm Over Their Ancestral Land …As Land Grabbers Devise New Means in Gov Uzodinma’s Name To Sell Them
The desperation of land grabbers has been reported to take a new dimension as they are said to resort to the free mention of the name of the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for the purposes of illegally acquiring lands belonging to the people, kindreds, Villages and Communities in Owerri North local government area and other areas.

The people of Umunwahu kindred in Mpama village, Egbu Kingdom in Owerri North have raised the alarm over what they have perceived as clandestine moves by some persons suspected to be officials of the ruling party in the state, the All Progressives Congress, APC to possess and sell their ancestral land named ‘Ala Ovoro’ located along Egbu -Owerri road adjacent to TCN and Shoprite areas.
The leadership and people of Umunwahu kindred, Mpama, Egbu Kingdom in Owerri north have revealed that the said land grabbers would deceptively mention the name of the state governor and other government agencies saying that they have their mandate and consent to engage in the illegal land transactions which the kindred would not cease to resist.
The people of the kindred according to investigations have continued to clear the air through their statements that they have not given any one a Power of Attorney to sell their cherished ancestral land and expressing their surprise that the land grabbers would be so insensitive as to drag the image of the state government to the muds in the course of amassing wealth.
The kindred is insisting that the land grabbers who are revealed to be APC officials of Egbu extraction are only aiming at actions contrary to the tradition and customs of Egbu kingdom and are daring the kindred.

It has been further revealed that in their desperation to carry out the shoddy deals ahead of the general elections, they are making efforts to lure a retired senior officer, who is an elder into the shoddy deal and also tried to induce one of the prominent daughters of Umunwahu kindred, Lady Euna Ogazi new Chiagoro which she, to their chagrin, turned down given her pedigree and orientation.
The same land grabbers, according to reports had also in the past, without the consent of the land owners, illegally rented part of the land to some goat dealers who are suspected to be immigrants from other countries not until the bubble burst.

Investigations have also revealed that the land grabbers came up with yet another swindling strategy to raise revenue before the elections by way of impersonating the government through which they said they got the order for the parcellation of the ancestral land where the rightful owners, Umunwahu kindred would only have access to a mere part of it.
It has been said that the youths, women and men of the kindred and the entire Egbu kingdom might stage a protest if the tricks are not stopped at this moment but that they would first take the matter to their revered Traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty, Eze Mitchell Uchenna Egbukole before actions.
