The Narcotics And Illicit Drugs Control War; Imo State Is Winning ||| NEWS CORNER
By Stanford Arinze Nwokedi
If you have not taken your time to notice that the addiction rate in our rural areas calls for concern, then, perhaps you’d need to bend down “to see Aba”.
For his consistency, devotion and positive results already garnered, Hon. Chief Ezechukwu Obonna (Papamunchies), the Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Narcotics and Illicit Drugs Monitoring, has become a shining example of effective dedication to public service. His tireless efforts to combat the scourge of Narcotics and Illicit Drugs in Imo State have yielded remarkable results. This is evident in the significant drop in crime rate in Imo State.
Obonna’s strategic approach to tackling drug abuse, particularly among young people, is commendable. By taking the war against Narcotics and Illicit drugs to secondary schools, institutions of higher learning, and communities, he has demonstrated a clear understanding of the root causes of this menace. His collaboration with key stakeholders, including the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and the Police, has also been instrumental in his success so far.
The benefits of the 3R Government-backed advocacy in fighting crime cannot be overstated. By addressing the issue of drug abuse, Hon Chief Obonna is also helping to reduce the incidence of violent crimes, which had risen in Imo State in the last couple of year to an all-time high.
Today, with a combination of kinetic and non kinetic approach of the Government, we are enjoying a sustained conquest over violent crimes.
The Demand Reduction and Sensitization Campaigns of the 3R Government through the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Narcotics and Illicit Drugs Monitoring is contributing non-kinetically to a safer and more secure environment for citizens, essential for economic growth and development.
Hon Chief Obonna’s use of sensitization and advocacy campaigns to educate citizens about the dangers of drug addiction is a testament to his commitment to prevention rather than just cure. By empowering citizens with knowledge, he is helping to build a more resilient and informed community that is better equipped to resist the lure of Narcotics and Illicit drugs.
It is even more commendable considering the passion and the huge investments Hon Chief Ezechukwu Obonna makes to sustain the all-important war against Supply and Demand Chains of Narcotics and Illicit Drugs.

From the Papal Sanctuary, in today’s Sunday Saintly Corner – where Truth is told, Hon. Chief Ezechukwu Obonna is a true champion in the fight against Narcotics and Illicit Drugs in Imo State.
Hon Chief Ezechukwu Obonna’s innovative approach, collaborative spirit, and dedication to public service make him THE PAPAL NUNCIO’S NOMINEE FOR THE BEST SPECIAL ADVISER of the Week. His street-wisdom is really high. He is a round peg in a round hole.
As Imo State continues to triumph over the challenges of insecurity, Hon Chief Obonna’s work serves as a beacon of hope and a reminder that effective governance can make a real difference in the lives of the citizens.
