SWS International Annual Conference 2025 Ends In Lagos …As Mrs Iwu Emerges The Most Outstanding National Officer ||| NEWS CORNER
OThe Annual Conference of StandUp for Women Society International (SWS) came to a memorable close with a colorful Cultural Night and Awards Ceremony.
The 2025 Conference, which officially commenced on the 9th of September at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, opened with a warm welcome cocktail reception that set the tone for days of learning, networking, and celebration.
With the inspiring theme: “From Potential to Power House: Equipping Women to Elevate and Thrive,” participants engaged in impactful sessions that emphasized empowerment, growth, and solidarity among women.
The conference brought together representatives from all 36 states of Nigeria and the diaspora, creating a vibrant platform for connection, exchange, and collaboration. Beyond the plenary sessions, participants enjoyed moments of relaxation and bonding, including a beach outing for social interaction.

The highlight of the ceremony was the Awards presentation, where distinguished members, alongside devoted matrons and patrons, were recognized and celebrated for their contributions to the advancement of women.
Among the award recipients was Mrs Chimekwa Iwu from Imo Chapter who received award of the most Outstanding National Officer.

The grand finale Cultural Night showcased captivating performances that reflected the beauty and diversity of our heritage, leaving participants inspired and proud of their collective identity.
Indeed, the 2025 SWS Annual Conference was a celebration of sisterhood, empowerment, and cultural pride — a true testament to the Society’s commitment to elevating women to thrive as powerhouses in their communities and beyond.
