RTEAN Hails Imo Govt on Road Projects, Charges Members on Peace, Professionalism
The Imo State Chairman of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Comrade Prince Izuchukwu Stanley Ezurike and his State Executive Council ( SEC ) has urged their members across the 27 local government area to adhere to the ethics and professional standard of the union in their area of operation while ensuring that the welfare of their passengers are protected .
Comrade Ezurike stated this while briefing journalist in Owerri recently.
He noted that RTEAN is a trade union established by the federal government of Nigeria under the decree 21 & 22 of 1978 as amended and gazetted on 8th February 1978, dedicated to promoting the interest of road transport operators while ensuring the welfare members.

According to him, “we are operating in all 774 local government of Nigeria including Imo state and our obligation is ensure that road transport business is sanitized while maintaining the international standard of operation, we do not intend to interfere with the state or local government affairs, but we have a cordial relationship with the current state government able led by Sen. Hope Uzodinma who has revolutionalized all the road network system in Imo state, his efforts in making sure that roads in Imo state are in good condition is highly commendable.
“Our vehicles are now in good shape, no more visiting mechanic workshop at interval. we will continue to support his government and its good policies for the betterment of all Imo citizens.

“We also commend the federal government for their support and backup in ensuring that our union is repositioned and repacked in all ramifications, we implore them not to relent in delivering their palliative measure of distribution of vehicles to tackle some of the logistics challenges facing the union”, he said.

Furthermore, comrade Ezurike lauded the national president Alh. Dr. Mohammed Musa Maitakobi and the southeast zonal chairman comrade Chidiebere Aniagwu for demonstrating capacity in promoting the affairs of the union in the south east region/Zone, stressing that RTEAN is open for everybody to join for greater opportunity in transport sector
