Prof Ngozi Iheduru Advises Women on Entrepreneurship, Bags Excellent Award
Ikenna Orioha
Women have been advised to engage in entrepreneurial ventures like trading including active farming in order to beat financial difficulty, hunger and poverty which are mainly instigated by bad governance, greed and corruption.
The advise for women to work hard in order to meet the financial needs of their families to feed properly and live well always, was given by Prof Ngozi Iheduru, after she received “Ambassador Woman of Inspiration” Award from the National Council for Women Societies of Nigeria, Imo State chapter, during the Women’s Day 2020 celebration, held at the former FSP Park, Mbari Street, Owerri, recently.
Prof Iheduru said one of the ways through which women can empower themselves is by coming out, form cooperatives and working hard with virtuosity, saying women like Prof Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Vice President of World Bank; Prof Victoria Adaobi Obasi, Vice Chancellor, Imo State University, Owerri, including herself are great women who she said made it through dint of hardwork, excellence and perseverance.
“We want bias against women to stop. Because there is no difference between men and women brain. There are great men and there are great women.
“Women should go into business, form cooperatives and work very hard to empower themselves and live comfortably at all times. Women should always help their families to succeed while being submissive to their husbands”.
Prof Ngozi Iheduru is the Head, Department of Accountancy, Imo State University, Owerri, a Fellow of Institute of Accountancy of Nigeria.
NCWSN said the meritorious honor of “Ambassador Woman of Inspiration” bestowed on Prof Ngozi Iheduru was due to her outstanding role to women encouragement and empowerment.
She thanked the NCWSN for the award which she said is deserving and will endear her to encourage economic and social growth of women and the society at large.
