Owerri North LG Polls: Onwuanaibe backs APGA candidate – Ahanonu …Says he is most qualified candidate
By Onyinyechi Nwankwo…
A foremost political leader and elder statesman in Imo State, Chief Marcus Onwuanaibe (Aboshi Udugudu) has declared his full support to the candidature of Chief Albert Uchenna Ahanonu, (Arufuoaku Chukwubuikem 1 of Umuchoko Obube) who is the Chairmanship flag bearer of APGA in Owerri North Council for Saturday 21 local government polls.
Receiving the APGA Chairmanship candidate for Owerri North Council and his running mate, Hon Kelechi Soroibe, among other members of his campaign team, at his residence, Umueze Umuokirika Obibi Uratta in Owerri North, Chief Onwuanaibe noted that the antecedents of Ahanonu towards the progress of Owerri North speak volume of his leadership capacity, hence his total support to his political aspiration.
“I know Ahanonu very well and can attest to his laudable achievements to the development and progress of the council. He has empowered women of his community, given scholarships to our youths, taken care of the pauper among his people. In fact, he has done very well in human capital and community development.
“He is a peace builder who has laid down structures devoid of rancor and strife, opened door of advancement to his people by sponsoring most of them abroad to better their lives. His humility and landmark achievements are exemplary which spurred his people to accord him much respect, at the same time pursuing his cause with their full chest”, Onwuanaibe said.
The frontline politician observed that Ahanonu is a man who possesses leadership qualities and capacity to man the Chairmanship position of Owerri North, stressing that the candidate is credible and most qualified and that he trust him to rebuild the LG, charging Ahanonu to do more for his people by fixing the various sectors of the council which he pointed out have been messed up, abandoned by past Chairmen.
“As you climb the Chairmanship Seat of our council, you should not be nonchalant like the previous chairmen who did not do well for the council, rather you have to help us rebuild the council left in shambles; connect and maintain our link roads to various communities within the council, revive our security sector by putting in place effective security measures, create workable parliament to help foster your leadership for the overall good of the people”, he stated.
Responding, the candidate thanked Chief Onwuanaibe for his warm reception and blessings proclaimed on them, promising never to dash the hopes of his people, rather make them proud, stating that within their first 90 days in office they would embark on recreational change in the council.
He said he is the only candidate in the entire council that possesses the capacity to lead the people as they desire, given that he has travelled far and wide, establishing friendship and trust with investors, saying he is just one person among other contestants who will be able to attract investors to the council to help develop it.
Ahanonu disclosed his trust in the Imo State Electoral Commission, ISEC, to conduct a credible LG election, adding that he believes that Governor Hope Uzodimma would be fair enough to do what is right as it regards the LG Polls for the progress of the state.
