Owerri -Mbaise -Umuahia Road: Ezuruezu Mbaise grateful to Governor Uzodimma –Media Professionals …As Adiuku insists Ezuruezu Mbaise, President General not partisan
The President, Federation of Mbaise Media Professionals (FMMP), Comrade Eze Adiuku has cleared the air on the news making rounds about the construction of Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia Road, where the Apex socio-cultural organization of Mbaise nation, Ezuruezu Mbaise was wrongly accused of overriding the interest of the people.
Comrade Adiuku in a press release issued on Monday, December 16, 2024, stressed that Ezuruezu Mbaise is an apex socio-cultural, non-political and non-partisan organisation of the Mbaise nation that fights for the interest of the generality of Mbaise people hence cannot engage in any meeting that jeopardize the yearnings of Mbaise nation as Ezuruezu Mbaise commends Gov Uzodinma over the Owerri -Mbaise -Umuahia road.

Adiuku added that neither the President General of Ezuruezu Mbaise, Sir Surv. Joe Anosikeh nor Ezuruezu Mbaise, engaged in any online or physical meeting with any organisation to discuss the issue of the ongoing Owerri -Mbaise – Umuahia Road construction .
“My attention has been drawn to write-ups circulating on the social media with regards to the ongoing construction of the Owerri – Mbaise – Umuahia Road.
“As a Concerned Citizen of Mbaise, I want to add my thoughts on the issue.
“For the records; Ezuruezu Mbaise, as the apex socio-cultural organisation of the Mbaise nation, is non-political and non-partisan but rather fights for the interest of the generality of Mbaise people.
“I know that Ezuruezu Mbaise is aware and grateful that His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodinma awarded the contract for the road. This is because during a visit in November 2023, the organisation thanked the Governor for awarding the contract.
“Also, some time in September, Ezuruezu Mbaise visited the Project Office of the Contractor handling the road construction and sought to know why the work was progressing slowly and even threatened to report them to Governor. They disclosed that it was due to rain and promised to increase their pace as soon as the rains subside, True to the promise, since the rains stopped, work has commenced in earnest on the road.

“It is also a fact that Ezuruezu Mbaise had sent a letter to meet with Governor Hope Uzodinma inorder to discuss and remind him of his promise to award the road that runs across five (5) local government areas, stretching from Okpuala to Aba Branch.
“Information reaching me indicates that neither Ezuruezu Mbaise nor its President General, Sir Surv Joe Anosikeh, engaged in any online or physical meeting with any organisation to discuss the issue of the ongoing Owerri -Mbaise – Umuahia Road project.
“It will be most unfair and embarrassing to drag the Ezuruezu Mbaise or its President General into a non-existent political brickbat.

“Moreover, the President General of Ezuruezu Mbaise, Sir Surv. Joe Anosikeh is non-partisan. This is probably why Mbaise nation reposed their confidence in him to lead their apex organization as its President General”, Eze Adiuku concluded.
