Owerri Club Inducts 21 New Members, Onyeagocha, Nneji, Akaolisa, others, assured full dedication

It was celebration galore Saturday, the 28th September 2024 as Owerri Club rated a remarkable induction ceremony.
The programme which took place at Owerri Club, Aladimma, witnessed the inauguration of the Imo state Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma as the president of the club, Nze George Onwuanibe (KSM) invested as the Club’s Grand patron.

In his remarks at the occasion,the chairman Owerri Club Hon, Chief Charles Okeke (Odiuko) disclosed that Owerri Club established in 1976, has been a cornerstone of social and recreational life in Imo State, noting that as a premier private members club, the club strive to foster camaraderie, sportsmanship, and a sense of belonging among their diverse members.

Hear him, “Today, we are honoured to have His Excellency, the Governor of Imo state join us as our president. His leadership an guidance will undoubtedly elevate our club to even greater heights. We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to Nze George Onwuanibe on his investiture as Grand patron, his invaluable contributions and support have been instrumental to the Club’s growth and success “.
Chief Okeke expressed his gratitude to all members of Owerri Club, benefactors, and supporters for their unwavering commitment to Owerri Club, praying that the club will continue to build a stronger, more inclusive, and more prosperous club for generation to come.

Chief Odiuko used the occasion to request the kind assistance of Governor Hope Uzodimma and their guests in supporting the following projects, the renovation and upgrade of their lawn tennis courts/arena, upgrade of their solar system to 25KVA capacity, completion of the club conference Hall, mini Golf course, three quarter football 5 standard pitch, Remodelling and upgrading the Gym facility.
It could be recalled that Owerri club is a private members club for sports and recreation founded in 1976 following the creation of Imo state out of the former East central state.
Owerri Club is proudly a member of an association of reputable club in Nigeria which enjoy reciprocal affiliated relationship with one another, these affiliated clubs insist and maintain a high standard of social conduct. In compliant with it’s affiliate responsibilities, Owerri Club on its own part has entrenched a cod of conduct which must be followed by every member.
The event honoured prominent figures including HRM Eze Okeke, CP Aboki,, Raph Nwosu, Mr Everest Okpara, Dr Kingsley Achigbu, Dr Chima Amadi, Dr Charles Akusinchi among others.
