Orlu-Warehouse Motor Park Sealed, Mbaise road, Ama jk, other illegal parks to be visited Soon– Lasbrey Okafor

The State Government has sealed Orlu illegal Motor Park situated at Warehouse Owerri and directed all the commercial buses loading there to relocate to government approved Motor park at Egbeada.

The Commissioner for Transport, Prince Lasbery Okafor-Anyanwu, who was accompanied to the illegal Motor Park by the State NURTW Chairman, Mr. Izuchukwu Okebaram disclosed this while addressing the transporters.

Prince Okafor-Anyanwu who directed the transporters to vacate the illegal Motor Park, equally pointed out that soon the Ministry of Transport would apprehend defaulters and other Commercial Vehicle Operators who load  and un-load at un-authorized places in the State such as Ama JK, . Control Post, Mbaise Road and Fire Service.

He enjoined them to comply with Government directives on Motor Parks, adding that work is on top gear to expand and develop the Arugo Central Motor Park, while Government is making earnest effort towards building new Motor Parks and Bus-Stops as some of the measures to sanitize the Transport industry in the State.

The Commissioner who reminded Commercial Vehicle Operators operating as Town Service in Owerri Municipality and its environs to rush to Taximo Office at ITC premises to Brand and Fleet their Vehicles, warned that after the expiration of the extention date of March 14, 2018, any defaulter caught would be made to face the full weight of the Law.

The NURTW Unit Chairman of Orlu Road Motor Park, Mr. Chinedu Alamezie on behalf of the members, assured the Commissioner of their compliance with the relocation order to the new Egbeada Motor Park.
