NYCN president appoints Agwuncha as new Acting Vice President, South East
President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Amb. Sukubo S. Sukubo has appointed Comrade Izunna Agwuncha as Acting Vice President, South East, of the council.
The appointment is contained in a statement by Sukubo made available to newsmen in Owerri, on Thursday.
The NYCN President said that Agwuncha’s appointment, which “takes effect immediately”, became necessary following the resignation of erstwhile Vice President, Mr Smart Uwakwe, on Dec. 5, 2024.
He said that the decision to appoint Agwuncha was reached during an emergency meeting of the NYCN’s National Executive Committee on Dec. 10, 2024.
“ As Acting Vice President, you are empowered to take full responsibility of the Office of the Vice President pending the conduct of a bye-election.
“ Congratulations on your new role, and we look forward to more of your good contributions to the council via the new office “, Sukubo said.
Our Correspondent reports that until his new appointment, Agwuncha served as Assistant Secretary South-East of the NYCN.
