NIPR Imo State Chapter Mourns Paddy Obinna, Dr Jonathan Ogugua

The Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Imo State Chapter, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of two of its members, Mr. Paddy Obinna and Dr. Jonathan Ogugua, describing their deaths as a significant loss to the Chapter and the public relations profession.

In a statement signed by the Chapter Chairman, Zandas Okeke Otigba, the Institute paid glowing tribute to the late Mr. Paddy Obinna, a celebrated visual artist, communicator, and curator of the Paddy Obinna Gallery. The Chapter noted that his artistic excellence and contributions to communication brought distinction to Imo State and earned him recognition within and beyond professional circles.

The statement recalled that Mr. Obinna was among ten distinguished personalities honoured with the Imo NIPR Leadership and Luminary Award during the Chapter’s 2025 Annual General Meeting in recognition of his outstanding contributions.

The Chapter also honoured the memory of Dr. Jonathan Ogugua, describing him as a committed member who rendered dedicated service over many years. He served as Chairman of the Chapter’s Electoral Committee for three terms and was Deputy University Librarian at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

According to the statement, Dr. Ogugua’s integrity, dedication, and commitment to the growth of the Chapter will be fondly remembered by colleagues and members.

The NIPR Imo State Chapter extended its heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and professional associates of the deceased, praying for the peaceful repose of their souls.
