Naija’s Superstar, 2Baba Rocks New Award

A Nigerian music legend, Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known with the stage name 2Baba has been selected as a Fellow of the School of Music by the Department of Music, Obafemi Awolowo University, He Ife.

The singer becomes the first ever recipient of the award which was presented to him at the department’s 1st Public Lecture and Fellowship Award Ceremony.

Reacting to the award and responsibility bestowed on him by the Institution, Mr. ldibia expressed enthusiasm to have been considered for the fellowship, adding that being the torch-bearer for the New Pop Movement is a role he do not take lightly and he feels honoured to have been found worthy of such noble, enormous responsibility.

He was also a guest lecturer at the event which saw him present a paper titled: ”two decades of Afro Pop in Nigeria: The perspective of 2Baba.”

Speaking also was the wife, Mrs. Annie ldibia who expressed gratitude to the Obafemi Awolowo University management for what she defined as Sensitive Position bestowed on her hubby.
