Imo Police Command warn against indiscriminate use of covered number plates, unauthorized tinted glasses, siren, others
The State Police Command says it has observed with serious concern, increased indiscriminate use of vehicles with covered number plates unauthorized tinted glasses, revolving lights/siren, Police spy number plates and government number plates on personal private vehicles.
It states that this observation was noticed during the recent arrests and interrogation of high profile suspected criminal elements who disclosed that they used such vehicles to evade security checks.

The Police says concerning the serious security challenges they pose to the efforts of the Command in combating crime and criminality in the State, it is giving owners of such unauthorized vehicles and the public up to Monday next week to dismantle or remove them.
In the same vein, it advises government officials who use government number plates on their personal private vehicles to remove them without further delay.
It adds that the Commissioner of Police in the State has directed strategized operations from Tuesday March six for a massive contravention and prosecution of any person(S) caught violating the laws guiding the use of such vehicles.
This message is contained in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Enwerem.
