Imo Min of Health to Commence COVID-19 Community Testing Across 27 LGAs September 7, 2020 ||| NEWS CORNER

The Imo State Public Health Emergency Operation Center wish to inform the general public that they will commence COVID-19 Community Testing in all the 27 Local Government Areas in Imo State.
The Commissioner for Health & Incident Manager, Dr Mrs Damaris Osunkwo stated this in a release and made available to News Corner Media by the Public Relations Officer of Imo Ministry of Health, Mrs Edith Obi-Okoro recently.
According to the Centre, “This is to know the burden of the disease in the State, identify those infected with it and thereby treat them; as COVID-19 is not a death sentence”
The Health Commissioner said the the areas to be visited across the state will be timely communicated to be well prepared for the exercise.
“This move will take off on 7th September, 2020 and each Local Government to be visited shall be announced from time to time”
Dr Osunkwo restated the state government revolve to deliver the dividends of democracy and encouraged Imolites to utilize the opportunity to know their health status.
“Be assured that the State Government has the best interest of her citizenry at heart and will do everything possible to guarantee their good health.
“Imolites are therefore enjoined to come out en-mass and be tested as they visit each community/LGAs”
