Imo Govt Partners ITF To Train 15,000 Youths

Special Adviser to governor on skills acquisition Hon. Chidi Onyebuchi has revealed that imo state government have partnered fully with Industrial training fund (ITF)a subsidiary of ministry of industry trade and investment to actualize the vision of his excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to train 5 million Nigerian youths and certify them for international movement.
Hon. Onyebuchi stated this while briefing journalist in Owerri on Tuesday 2nd July 2024 in his office.
According to him, “the skill- up programme of the governor Sen. Hope Uzodinma has been taken to national level and anchored in industrial training fund office in Abuja and Imo state have already sent representatives who will train participants from the 27 local government in blue collar jobs, computerize programmes, solar panel installation, fashion designing, soap production and minor engineering work.
Consequently, our office will be inviting all the stakeholders involved in the training to interface with ITF Imo state wing, members of skill-up Imo programme, artisans and 27 local government chairmen to activate names that have been collated thus far and direct them to their various training centers.
“We also encourage Imo citizens to take this training seriously as it will avail them the opportunity to acquire skills that will take them off the street and also get certification outside the shores of Nigeria.
He further noted that the data base of the train individuals will be used to secure employment in the ongoing projects in Imo state especially in the rural electrification project adding that a minimum of 15000 Imo youths will be trained in first batch to handle local content jobs.
