Imo Govt Declares 15th February Holiday
The governor of the State, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has directed that Friday, February 15, 2019 be declared Public holiday.

This is to enable indigenes of the State and others Concerned to get to where they registered for voting, to exercise their franchise.
The governor wishes to use this opportunity to advice Imo people in particular and all eligible voters in the State in general to ensure peace and avoid actions that could lead to any kind of trouble.
His Excellency however urged voters to resist all forms of rigging and intimidation and assured that security agents will be out for trouble makers and those whose stock in trade is manipulation of the electoral processes.
He advised those planning to create tension in the State or rig the election to have a change of heart or have themselves to blame because any action that will be detrimental to the Success of the election in the State will not be allowed to succeed.
