Imo AGN Unveils Logo For Nollywood Imo@20 Anniversary, Maps Out End of Year Events

The notable members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Imo state Chapter in its usual steps of diligence has unveiled a superlative logo to mark the association’s 20years anniversary in the state, while thanking God Almighty for mercies in all their endeavors over the past decade.

In his address at the Unveiling occasion in Owerri recently, the Chairman AGN/Nollywood @20 Anniversary Committee, Amb. Lambert Nnorom said the programme is aimed at expressing gratitude to God as well as flagging off remarkable events built up for the anniversary celebrations within the the month and year end.

“It is with a deep sense of gratitude to God, that I welcome you all to this pragmatic and auspicious event: the official unveiling ceremony of the Anniversary Logo and flag-off of several Most Significant Events enwrapped for the celebration of “20 Years of Nollywood in Imo State” by Actors Guild of Nigeria (Imo State Chapter)”

Amb. Nnorom while acknowledging the presence, efforts and supports of members, Excos and stakeholders of the Guild added that the résumé of the occasion of the 20 Years Anniversary of Nollywood in Imo State is an appraisal of the growth of the children of one woman who she suckled and bred to greatness in a global village known as Nollywood.

“The Script Writers Guild of Nigeria SWGN, the Association of Movie Producers AMP, the Association of Nigeria Movie Directors ANMD, the Directors Guild of Nigeria DGN, the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria CDGN, the Production Managers Association of Nigeria – PMGN, the Cinematographers Association of Nigeria – CSN, Association of Movie Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria – AMPMAN etc. in the State are all offshoots from the Actors Guild of Nigeria in the State”

“Nollywood in Imo State was born and nursed by the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Imo State Chapter; and as an Alma Mater, she is left without option in this celebration, other than to carry all her Children along in her capacity as mother who brought them all up”

Amb. Nnorom added that the occasion of the unveiling ceremony, most importantly, is a conference to unmask the tangible achievements of the Guild as well as flag off publicity for the main events billed for 26, 27 and 28th November 2021.

“Today, our highlight is to make public, the official Mascot (in Print) for the 20 Years Anniversary. Today, we will share with you, our scheduled activities for the occasion, to impact the industry. From today, publicity and targeted arrangements for the occasion would be fully activated”

“We are therefore billed to be celebrating from a comfort zone with the co-option of all there is in Nollywood, nay the Entertainment Industry in Imo State. Our brothers and sisters in the Music Industry, Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria PMAN, the Disc Jockeys Association of Nigeria DJAN, the Stand-Up Comedians, etc. are all in this together with us”, Nnorom disclosed.

“Permit me therefore, to state that every Nollywood practitioner in the state shares with the AGN, a deep sense of commitment and fraternal link, stands with us as we unveil significant matters to mark the 20 Years Anniversary of Nollywood in Imo State. Hope for AGN Imo Road Tour November 26, 2021:
This morning activity will involve the touring of major roads and streets in the state capital by Guild members and all lovers of entertainment. The objective of this event is to promote entertainment, and encourage people to embrace peace, unity and progress in Imo State.

Hope for AGN Imo Lectures November 26, 2021:
This afternoon activity will involve the coaching of AGN members and industry wannabes on professionalism; instructions on alternative income sources to support their practice in the industry, and how to shoot themselves to stardom. The objective of this event is to instill and build confidence in young AGN members and industry wannabes.

Nollywood Imo @20 Anniversary Competitions Semis November 27, 2021:
This all-day activity is comprised of competitions in Drama, Modeling/Pageantry, Music and Dance. We have competitions amongst the four Satellite/Outreaches of AGN Imo State, Production Houses and Social Groups in Nollywood; competitions among the seven tertiary institutions in the state; and a Beauty Pageant/Contest to determine the most appropriate maiden from the 27 Local Government Areas in the state to wear the toga of Face of AGN Imo 2021: the winner and her runners up shall become Ambassadors of AGN to do public good as part of our corporate social responsibilities. The overall objective of this exercise is to promote the growth of the performing arts sub-sector; galvanize support for the industry from across the state; and return to the society that has made us relevant.

Anniversary Thanksgiving Church Service November 28, 2021:
This morning program is to show appreciate the Most High God who has brought Nollywood in Imo State this far. Thanksgiving gift items will be presented at the Altar to show appreciation to God. The objective of this activity is to help rekindle the faith of industry practitioners in the state, and put them and their affairs in the hands of God.

Nollywood Imo @20 Anniversary Competitions Finals November 28, 2021:
This afternoon activity is to determine the Finalists from all anniversary competitions. The objective here is to ready all Competition/Contest Winners for presentation at a later activity.

Nollywood Imo @20 Awards Night & Film Premier November 28, 2021:
The evening activity that will commence with a televised Red Carpet Show will culminate in the Fellows of Nollywood Award series: A special recognition of individuals and organizations whose contributions have greatly and positively impacted Nollywood/AGN in Imo State. Highlight of the occasion will be the Public Presentation of the first ever Cinematic Film Produced by AGN nationally. The film entitled Orjiugo which is 100% AGN/Nollywood practitioners cast and crew, seeks to project artistes from Imo State to the limelight internationally. There will also be select side attractions to reveal innovative talents. The overall objective of this exercise is to give honor to whom it is due, and to launch a fund to help AGN Imo succeed in making more film genres to build the economic base and well-being of practitioners in the state.

The Anniversary Committee Chairman urged all well meaning citizens of the state to contribute their quota towards the growth of the creative and entertainment industry in the state while thanking the sponsors of the Logo Unveiling occasion, Engr. Ifeanyi Emeruwa, Chief Akunaebuaju; National President, Dr. Emeka Ejezie Rollas and Imo AGN Chairman, Lady Nneoma Ukpabi among others.

Amb. Nnorom expressed gratitude to the State Executive Committee of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Imo State, ably led by Lady Dr. Nneoma Ukpabi for finding him worthy to spearhead the historic event of the organization describing it as Divine.

“To consolidate the gains from this fastest growing Industry in the state, it is audacious that the same tutelage through which the Industry in Imo has recorded solid growth and stability, leads it to its ultimate vision. That is why perhaps, I, as the first state Chairman of the Guild several years ago, would now have to work with a very creative and dedicated team, to organize this strategic line-up of events that herald unprecedented breakthrough for Nollywood practitioners in the state, and the opening of more frontiers to step up our dreams”
