Imo 2027: Why Imolites Are Yearning For Chima Matthew Amadi
By CAJETAN DUKE…
As 2027 Imo off-circle governorship election draws closer, the state is yet again on the cusp of a new era, and the name on everyone’s lips is the Umuekwunne Ngor Okpala born distinguished scholar, Dr Chima Matthew Amadi.
As if in obedience to the biblical injunctions of 1 John 4:1 (KJV) “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world,” Imolites are aware that many habitual political office seekers will soon dominate the entire political space, both the pretenders and placeholders but the truth is that they have been several tested and found unworthy!
Majority of them are akin to fake prophets hence Imolites are earnestly asking for Amadi to take the reins. While Amadi has not publicly declared his interest and it is also not time for campaign, yet Imolites are all over the place for him, the question then is what makes him the people’s choice?
Chima Amadi possesses a unique combination of skills that make him an ideal candidate to bridge political gaps and unite various interests for the development of Imo State. As a seasoned activist, development advocate, scholar, and serial entrepreneur, Amadi brings nearly two decades of experience to the table.
His strong intellectual background in public health, international relations, political science, comparative public policy and administration, earned from top institutions within and outside Nigeria, has equipped him with a deep understanding of the complex issues facing Imo State.
Amadi’s ability to listen, learn, and inspire others, as well as his capacity to build consensus around a shared vision, make him a natural mobilizer, who can bring people together and foster a sense of brotherhood. Through his work with various organizations, including the Centre for Transparency Advocacy, Amadi has demonstrated his commitment to promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance, which are essential qualities for bridging political gaps and driving development.
If equity is the guiding principle for the emergence of the next governor, then Ngor Okpala LGA is undoubtedly deserving of consideration. As a vital component of Owerri zone, Ngor Okpala has been historically marginalized in terms of political power allocation and infrastructural development, despite its significant contributions to the state.
This glaring imbalance is evident in the lack of notable infrastructure projects, limited access to basic amenities, and inadequate representation in key political positions.
Given its impressive track record of producing outstanding leaders and contributing to the state’s growth, it is only fair that Ngor Okpala LGA is given its due share of political power and developmental projects.
In fact, supporting an Imo Governor of Ngor Okpala – nay, Owerri Zone extraction, will be a significant step towards addressing the existing inequities and promoting a more inclusive and equitable society.
If educational qualifications and work experience are the criteria for selecting the next governor, then Chima Amadi is undoubtedly the most qualified candidate.
With a sound academic resume that boasts of multiple degrees from reputable institutions, Amadi is a distinguished scholar, who has demonstrated academic excellence and a deep understanding of the complex issues facing Imo State. His impressive educational background is complemented by his extensive work experience in various fields, including public health, international relations, and entrepreneurship. Amadi’s unique blend of academic and professional expertise makes him a round peg in a round hole, perfectly suited to tackle the challenges facing Imo State and drive sustainable development.
His intellectual capacity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills are exactly what Imo State needs to navigate its current challenges and secure a brighter future for its citizens.
If preparation is indeed a key indicator of readiness for leadership, then Chima Amadi has unequivocally demonstrated that he is more than prepared to take on the mantle of leadership as governor of Imo State.
Over the years, Amadi has honed his leadership skills through various professional and community engagements, carefully cultivating a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges facing Imo State. His deliberate and systematic approach to preparation is a testament to his commitment to excellence and determination to render visionary leadership to the State.
I am cognizant of the fact that the issue of consolidating democratic gains is indeed a pressing concern that often leads to the rise of emergency public servants, who may not be equipped to handle the complexities of democratic governance. However, Chima Amadi stands out as a notable exception.
Unlike emergency public servants, who prioritize short-term gains over long-term democratic principles, Amadi’s background and experience suggest a deeper commitment to democratic values. With his strong academic foundation and extensive experience in public service, Amadi is well-equipped to navigate the intricacies of democratic governance and ensure that democratic gains are consolidated.
By supporting Amadi, Imo people are assured of strengthened and expanded democratic dividends.
As a seasoned administrator with excellent track record of effective leadership and management, Amadi knows how to get things done and his experience in administration will serve him well in the governor’s seat.
Interestingly, Amadi’s strengths did not stop at governance; as he is also an astute entrepreneur with a deep understanding of the business world and its role in driving economic growth.
As we navigate towards the 2027 election, Amadi’s momentum is building. Prominent political actors from across the state are defecting to his camp, drawn by his vision for a better Imo. The Mazi Organization, founded by Amadi, is gaining traction, and its message of hope and transformation is inspiring a new generation of Imolites across the board.
Amadi understands that real change begins at the local level, therefore, he is dedicated to empowering communities across Imo State. From his work with local leaders to his support for community development initiatives, Amadi is building a movement that will drive real progress in the state.
Let me conclude by pointing out that Imolites are earnestly asking for Chima Matthew Amadi because he represents a new era of leadership and progress. His exceptional qualifications, political knowledge and passion for the welfare of the people of Imo State, make him the ideal candidate for the job.
Day after day, Amadi’s momentum is building. His message of hope and transformation is resonating in the state and inspiring a new generation of Imolites, who are in desperate need of REAL CHANGE.
